About AstroVeda
AstroVeda is a free birth chart calculator built for anyone curious about what the sky looked like at the moment they were born. Enter a birth date, time, and place, and AstroVeda works out the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets, your rising sign, your house cusps, and the aspects between your placements - then explains what each one means in plain, friendly language.
No account, no app download, and no payment wall. Just a chart, calculated instantly, with original explanations written for people who are looking at a birth chart for the first time as well as those who already know their Sun sign from their rising sign.
Why We Built AstroVeda
A lot of astrology tools online ask you to create an account before showing you anything, bury your chart behind a "premium report" upsell, or hand you a wheel full of symbols with no explanation of what you're looking at. We wanted something simpler: type in your details, see your chart immediately, and get a clear written breakdown of your placements without needing to already speak the language of astrology.
How Our Calculations Work
AstroVeda calculates planetary positions using established astronomical algorithms - the same kind of orbital mechanics used to predict where the planets sit in the sky on any given date. When you enter a birth place, we look up its coordinates and time zone so the chart reflects local time at the moment of birth, including historical daylight saving rules. House cusps are calculated using the Placidus system, the most widely used house system in modern Western astrology.
Our Approach to Content
Every guide on AstroVeda - the zodiac sign pages, planet meanings, house explanations, and blog articles - is written from scratch in our own voice. We aim for explanations that are approachable without being shallow: enough context to understand why a placement means what it means, not just a one-line keyword to memorize.
A Note on How We Think About Astrology
We present astrology as a tool for reflection and self-exploration, not as fact or prediction. Your birth chart can offer language for thinking about your personality, tendencies, and the themes showing up in your life - but it doesn't determine your choices or your future. For more on how we frame this, see our disclaimer.
